  10.    The following is a list of "fixes" to The Blue Wave Offline Mail Reader
  11.    since v2.00.  Some of these were not bugs, but the operation or feature
  12.    was made to work slightly differently (not quite a new feature, and not
  13.    quite a bug).  Some items were changed to be compatible with more
  14.    systems; and some of them were just plain, outright BUGS.

  17.    * The reader's video routines didn't get along real well with some CGA
  18.      video cards.  The video routines were also changing the font of some
  19.      EGA/VGA systems.  The majority of these problems were verifiably fixed.
  20.      Hopefully they won't cause any more trouble on Not Quite Compatible
  21.      systems.
  22.  
  23.    * MONOCHROME systems had some trouble when a BWCOLOR.200 configuration
  24.      file was present.  If BWCOLOR.200 was present, the reader would load
  25.      it.  Some people had managed to get a BWCOLOR.200 from a color system
  26.      onto a monochrome system, making one heck of a mess.  For this
  27.      reason, the reader NO LONGER LOADS THE COLOR CONFIGURATION FILE when
  28.      a monochrome system is detected, or the -M(onochrome) switch is used
  29.      on the command line.  If a monochrome system *really* needs to load a
  30.      color configuration file, YOU MUST USE THE -O(verride) COMMAND LINE
  31.      PARAMETER.
  32.      EXAMPLE  C:> BWAVE -m -o    <==Forces monochrome, and READ color file

  34.    * The reader was sometimes rebooting machines when run under DESQview
  35.      and/or QEMM.  This has been fixed.
  36.  
  37.    * Once in a great while the reader would throw "garbage" to the editor
  38.      when quoting a message.  We contacted our local landfill, and now
  39.      have a contract to dump our garbage there.  We won't be getting rid
  40.      of it on your system any more.

  42.    * Reader now remembers the last filename used when saving a message to
  43.      disk.  This operation can be modified, however, by using the "Set
  44.      SaveFile to AreaName" on the SETUP->Options Menu.

  46.    * There was a bug that would not allow the editing of NETMAIL messages
  47.      from the "View, Edit, Kill" menu.  Squashed.
  48.  
  49.    * Sometimes the reader wouldn't let you edit ANY message from the
  50.      "View, Edit, Kill" menu.  That, too, has been fixed.
  51.  
  52.    * The reader now deletes *.BAK files from your REPLY directory before
  53.      compressing your upload (*.NEW) packet.  Some editors like to create
  54.      these files when you edit a text file.
  55.  
  56.    * The Conference/Area Name was left off when printing a message or
  57.      saving it to disk.  It is now printed in the message header.
  58.  
  59.    * The selection windows used within the reader were modified to perform
  60.      more consistently.  Please see WHATSNEW.201 for a description of the
  61.      keys to use to perform various movements.
  62.  
  63.    * Setting the reader's "Beep on Errors" option sometimes did not work.
  64.      The reader will now remain silent when this is turned OFF.
  65.  
  66.    * When items were tagged from the Purge Packet menu, the reader would
  67.      sometimes report an erroneous number of packets that it was about to
  68.      purge.  This has been fixed.

  70.    * The reader no longer will accept an <ESC> key when you have "Save
  71.      Read/Reply Pointers" set to "Prompt", and it is asking you if you WANT
  72.      to save them.  You must answer "Y" or "N".  Why?  People were
  73.      slapping <ESC> to get back to the main menu a few too many times, and
  74.      sometimes they DID want to save their message pointers.  This was
  75.      requested by several users.

  77.    * There were numerous other minor changes, but nothing that should
  78.      affect the operation of the reader.
